It seems that nobody is buying Donald Trump’s claim that there is an emergency in Washington, DC that requires federal law enforcement intervention. This is especially the case because the White House refuses to say what the emergency situation is.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) went on CNN and Vlek called the Washington, DC Emergency Fake.

They have not defined the emergency situation, especially with crime percentages at a lowest point of 30 years in the district or Columbia. And he has used the National Guard, at least I am happy to see that he acknowledges that he has the power to activate the National Guard.
That was what he refused to do four and a half years ago when the Capitol and his own vice president and congress were attacked. Because of the crowd of violence that he unleashed against us. And he spent many hours on his hands and later claimed that in one way or another he did not have the authority to use the National Guard.
That was a real emergency situation. This is not a real emergency. He was not asked to send the National Guard or to take over the police through the house or the Senate or the mayor or the DC Council. This seems to me. Such as an emergency, which is made for a public relations crisis with regard to the Epstein file.
He does not want to release the Epstein file, so he wants everyone to look in a different direction. In any case, if he really gave public safety in DC, he would release the billion dollars he has stopped, and the Republicans have sustained it in financing for the local budget. That is all local money.

Rep. Raskin was right. Trump is looking for distraction to let people forget the Epstein files. The president focuses on a majority of minority city because he knows that when he needs something to distract his base, he can always count on racism to do it.
Anyone who is not a Maga sees the distraction through, including Jamie Raskin, and it is certain that there will be a court fight about the legality of Trump that a local police federalize, but this is not about crime or public policy.
It is about Donald Trump who creates a distraction.
