On September 10, America lost a warrior and a family lost their father.
Charlie Kirk, my brother, a man who stood high with his feet firmly planted and a microphone in his hand, was taken from us at Utah Valley University as he proclaimed the truth. He doesn’t shrink back. He didn’t staggered. He didn’t ran. He died as he lived, daring, steadfast and ashamed of the gospel and the truth.
When America needed a hero, God sent us Charlie Kirk. Without Charlie there is no youth movement, no President Donald Trump, no vice president JD Vance. But no matter how big Charlie became, he was always friendly and generous for everyone. He would not let anyone feel like someone if he listened to every person who wanted to talk.
‘Dark Moment for America’: Trump explains Charlie Kirk’s voice ‘bigger and bigger’ after murder
The book Acts says that Stephen was stoned because of speaking the truth. While Stephen lifted his eyes to heaven, he saw Christ standing to receive him. I believe Charlie had the same vision. He never feared people because He feared God alone.

Last year Charlie lost his voice for a university event in Penn State. He texted me and said, “Jack, the children wait and I can’t disappoint them.” I said to him, “I’m on the way.” I jumped on a flight and the next day Penn State closed our speakers, so I grabbed a Bullhorn and we threw hats for the thousands of students who arrived. I never forgot how he looked afterwards and said, “God bless you.”
Charlie lived there. He believed everything, every word, every moment was to the glory of God.
Charlie Kirk was proud champion of Christianity on campuses throughout the country: “I am nothing without Jesus”
Behind the cameras, Charlie was a man of prayer. We not only spent with strategies, but we also bend our heads to ask the Lord’s leadership. He would send me verses on strange hours and remind me that “the joy of the Lord is our strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). Charlie wore politics as a armor, but his true weapon was the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
Charlie Kirk was a father. He was a maker. He was a builder. He was a leader and was one of my best friends. He not only built the turning point USA from nothing, but a household of faith with Erika and their two precious children. He modeled what it means for a man to love his wife as Christ loved the church. That example can be his greatest legacy.

He knew the threats. After Butler I spoke privately with him about the danger and the possibility of death. But he wouldn’t stop.

Charlie died, even when a question was asked about violence and chaos in our country. His last public act spoke with courage and clarity in the storm. Charlie Kirk is a martyr.
“Nobody has bigger love than this, that a man put his life down for his friends.”
Charlie Kirk lived 10 lives in 31 short years. He never sat still. Charlie Kirk lived a life that is worth living.

I mourn to Erika and their children. I mourn for his parents, his family, his countless friends. But I am not sad when the world mourns, because I know that Charlie lives in Christ. Jesus told us: “I am the resurrection and life. The one who believes in me, although he dies, but he will live.” Charlie believed that with every fiber of his being. Now he sees the truth personally.

Charlie Kirk was a conservative fire fire for the world. For me he was a brother, a colleague soldier and a servant of the living God. Charlie pushed forward, anchored in Christ, trusting the promise that perfect love sets out fear.

So let’s honor him in the way he lived. With boldness, with faith and with prayer. The same God who called Charlie at home will wipe every tear out of our eyes one day. Until that time we take up the banner that he wore, we carry the cross that he was wearing, and we continue to walk ahead in the light of Christ and love for nation.

God blessing you, Charlie. I will tell your children who you were. You fought against the fight. You died with your boots. I know you are now in the presence of the king.
Until we meet again, brother.
