Israel activated a new air defense system – called “barrack stomachs”, which means “Lightning Shield” – for the first time on Sunday evening and said that the multiple Iranian drones intercepted and destroyed.
The Israeli navy intercepted eight Iranian drones with the help of the “barracks” and its long -distance air defense (LRRAD) interceptor, which were launched by an Israeli navy Sa’ar 6 rocket ship, said the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in a statement.
“The barrack Magen is just a different arrow in the growing arrow cooker of Israel’s very advanced and more and more diverse multi-lagged rocket defense architecture that was already through jumps, the most advanced and experienced air defense system that was finished by every country in the world,” said Hannah.

The system can intercept a “wide range of threats”, according to the IDF, including unmanned aircraft (UAVs), cruise rockets, threats with a high process and missiles on the coast.
Hannah said that the system not only offers strength protection for the Israeli fleet, but also offers long-term protection to the growing oil and gas infrastructure of Israel in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, along with critical infrastructure and population centers along the coastline of Israel.
“It enables Israel to feed interceptions at significant distances from the Israeli home country, both in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, and thereby adds a critical important strategic depth when defending the small geographical area of Israel,” he said.
The IDF said that the rocket ship of the Israeli navy fleet has intercepted about 25 UAVs that have been a threat to Israel since the conflict with Iran escalated.
