For decades, Israel has tried to work with the United Nations, sometimes against our better instincts. I personally sat in countless meetings with UN officials, meticulously negotiated frameworks to ensure that humanitarian aid achieved citizens in Gaza. I supervised budgets, coordinated secure corridors for convoys and approved daily discussions with UN representatives about food, medicines and fuel. We did not make these efforts because of Hamas, but because we as Israelis recognize the holiness of human life, even outside our own side of the battlefield.
Despite these efforts, the organization we have enabled to provide help repeatedly turned against us. Instead of recognizing Israel’s unprecedented humanitarian measures, the UN issued routine convictions. Their resolutions read less as diplomation acts and more as pre -prepared charges. This is not neutrality. It is hostility, dressed in the language of international law.

It is difficult to ignore the hypocrisy. Iran, Noord -Korea and Syria have seats in the UN councils, while Israel is towed for panels that occur as courts. At the same time, another arm of the United Nations, the Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) of the United Nations, has facilities in Gaza. These buildings are built for education and health care, but have become arsenals for Hamas Rockets instead and serve as an infrastructure for anxiety.
The fact that non-ranked schools and clinics are armed in this way is almost always overlooked by those who condemn Israel so quickly. The human rights council spends more time choosing Israel than tackling another crisis on the planet. This is no coincidence. It is the result of an institution that has been copt by regimes that are determined to undermine the Jewish state.
Last week the UN released a report that accuses me personally, by name, of war crimes and, by extension, accuses Israel of genocide.

I am proud that I was in the position to defend the state of Israel. Given the choice, I would do this again without hesitation. As Minister of Defense, I led the IDF because it established standards for proportionality and distinction [not] Seen in every modern military conflict. No other army has made more effort to warn citizens in all possible ways: leaflets, calls, texts and warning shots before they focus on terrorist infrastructure. These are not the actions of an indifferent army; They are the actions of a nation of conscience and responsibility.
Hamas, on the other hand, hides rockets in schools, launches rockets from courtyards in the hospital, forces citizens to serve as shields and has still held hostages hostage. It produces civil suffering and uses it for propaganda.

On international forums, and especially at the UN, the truth rarely gets a hearing. Israel is held on impossible double standards. When the only Jewish state in the world is more often convicted than regimes responsible for documented atrocities and genocide, we must clearly say: this is a new anti -Semitism for a new era.
The UN report points to a sentence that I used in the immediate aftermath of October 7, after terrorists from Gaza had slaughtered, raped and abducted Israeli citizens, I referred to those responsible as ‘human animals’. That description applied to the perpetrators and orchestrators of these barbaric attacks. Nevertheless, the report, like many hostile accusations since then, deliberately ignoring the context of such statements ignoring.

The last UN report is a study in selective blindness. There are no details about the Hamas tunnel network, no reporting of their use of human shields, no serious accounting of the reality that their own missiles and booby-fit buildings kill Gazans. Only a passing mention of the Israelis has been murdered or abducted. Statistics supplied by Hamas are repeated as facts, Israeli actions twisted and humanitarian efforts are overlooked.

This committee started with its verdict in advance and written in advance. It ignores operational realities, the complexity of urban warfare and the unprecedented standards that Israel has introduced. The accusations of genocide are based on incorrect quotes and deliberate manipulation. There is no evidence that I, or another IDF or Defense officer, have ever been dehumanized as a people. For me it is a real fight and it has always been against terrorism.
The international community now faces a choice. It can enable the UN to remain a platform for bias and manipulation, or it can be said that truth and accountability guide its work. Israel asks no favors, only honesty. If the UN wants to serve its founding mission, it must apply the same standards to all parties. It should not let the humanitarian language be armed in the service of terror.

The UN was established to prevent future horrors such as the Holocaust. Nowadays it tolerates hate speech in its halls, undermines Israel’s right to defend themselves and encourages those who are determined to bring further violence into the region. By leaving honesty and truth, it betrays the original promise on which it was established.
Israel will continue to defend himself, protect his people and meet his moral obligations, even when the world closes its eyes. History will demonstrate that when the UN gave coverage to prejudices and lies, the people of Israel were unbent, determined and just.
