The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday that it had foiled “a new ceasefire violation” in the Gaza Strip after a “terrorist” crossed the “yellow line” that divides control of the area.
The incident is the second of its kind reported in the past two days. The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas came into effect on October 10.
“IDF forces have eliminated a terrorist who was found crossing the yellow line and approaching IDF forces in southern Gaza, posing an immediate threat to them,” the Israeli army wrote on X on Tuesday.
“The IDF must remain deployed, in accordance with the ceasefire, to continue operating to eliminate any immediate threat to the State of Israel,” it added.
