A joint statement issued by the US, the UK and a dozen other Western countries on Thursday called Iran’s attempts to kill and bother “foreign citizens” by working with criminal networks abroad.
The Western countries emphasized that dissidents, Jewish citizens and journalists, as well as current and former government officials, became the target of Iranian intelligence agents in countries in Europe and North America in a direct violation of national sovereignty.
“We are united in our opposition against the attempts of Iranian intelligence services to kill, kidnap and bother people in Europe and North America in a clear violation of our sovereignty,” said the explanation, also supported by Canada, Germany and France.

“We consider these types of attacks, regardless of the target, as violations of our sovereignty,” added the statement posted by the American virtual embassy of Iran. “We are committed to work together to prevent these actions from taking place and we call on the Iranian authorities to immediately put an end to such illegal activities in our respective areas.”
More than a dozen countries condemned Iran’s actions as ‘unacceptable’, including Albania, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden.
The statement, which not only served as an international reprimand, was also a warning for citizens in the European and North -American continents of the hostile activities that Tehran strives for. The warning is because geopolitical tensions remain high after the Israeli American strikes on Iran last month.

Reports have long suggested that Iran is increasingly concerned with secret malignant behavior to focus on foreign citizens.
Iran found not only behind an attempted murder of the then presidential candidate Donald Trump prior to the 2024 elections, but it also turned out to be behind a whole series of Europe and the American attacks last fall, Reuters reported.
Since 2022, the VK has also reported more than 20 incidents from Iran-linked plots to kill British nationals or individuals on British soil or to kidnap those who were the majority of Iranian dissidents.

Journalists and activists have been in the US for years the target of Iranian murder of rent and kidnapping splots, especially in the aftermath of the massive protests of 2022 that outbreak after the death of Mahsa Amini, who was murdered after her arrest in Iran due to alleged incorrect bore her hijab.
Tehran has repeatedly denied his involvement in the murder-for-rent and abduction plots.
