In a long -term and Beautifully manufactured address On Independence Day, July 4, 1821, the then President John Quincy Adams gave an exceptionally detailed and learned lesson about the establishment of America. It is one that still deserves repeatedly and close reading – although many of them will simply be understood by most Americans today, because it is close to references to history that is no longer taught in the United States.
The most memorable sentences of Adams are often quoted:
“[America] In the decline of almost half a century, without a single exception, has respected the independence of other nations while she claimed and maintained her own. She has refrained from interference in the concerns of others, even when it has been conflict for principles that she is holding on, about the last vital decline that the heart visits. She has seen that for centuries will probably come in the coming centuries, all the matches of Die Aceldama the European world, competitions will be of invalid power and emerging law. Wherever the standard of freedom and independence, there is or will be unrolled, there will be her heart, blessings and her prayers. But she is not going abroad, looking for samples to destroy. She is the benefactor of the freedom and independence of all. She is only the champion and the Vindicator. She will recommend the general matter by the face of her voice and the benign sympathy of her example. “
Summit with Putin sets up the agenda of Trump this week, while Ukraine War is central
The declamation that America “is not going abroad for samples to destroy” is a favorite text of both the pre-World wars one and two isolationists in America, but of course both global conflicts have separated and the United States pulled in.
Now, much more than in 1917 and 1941, the assumptions of our sixth president simply no longer apply.
There is no more ‘abroad’.
The idea of a “abroad” about which Americans can be indifferent or the subject of a distant approval or despicable contempt is dead.
To repeat: there is no such thing as ‘abroad’.
Not even remotely.
What remained of the concept after Pearl Harbor was crushed in 1957 by Sputnik, and then by successive generations of rakette technology. With the rise of hypersonic missiles, only fools would believe that there is a “abroad” everywhere in the world that can ignore the United States.
The hypersonic arsenal of Beijing Kan Washington, DC reach within two hours or less, and that margin will shrink quickly. The hypersonic missiles of Russia can reach the lower 48 earlier and Alaska in an instant.
If America is not the world, our rivals will do that
Other countries will inevitably contribute to the number of potential opponents that can change the world through hypersonic missilerie and huge, perhaps republic-ending damage to the country.
Of course America has a “second strike” capacity deep under the seas in our submarines in Ohio class, and even a huge fusillade of thousands of hypersonic missiles would probably not crack all our B-2s and B-21s or ever rocket silo. The United States would bring all bad powers that would hit the first, just as it did from 1941 to 1945.
But there would be no “marshall plan” waiting for someone or a country on the other side of such an unimaginable catastrophe. It must therefore be deterred. Defraction is only achieved by the reality of the American military power and the military power of the Allies on which it can trust.
To repeat a third time: there is no ‘abroad’.
Trump’s new American doctrine means that peace has returned through strength
This very dangerous word will only grow more over the years. President Trump’s decision to destroy the Iranian nuclear weapon program, in addition to the success of Israel against the ballistic rocket power of that fanatic theocracy, protected the whole world of the most unstable and terror-addicted regime in the world to threaten the west and further with Armageddon.
For a while, at least, the precise and targeted application of American military power to the rocket and nuclear arsenal of an enemy on the edge of “Breakout” kept the number of nuclear forces stable.
Bravo, President Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Whatever criticism of any other subject is, the most important mission of their career is complete. (Although both men can be obliged to do it again by the fanatics in Tehran.)

The West of course still has enemies, and the most formidable is the Chinese communist party that dominates the People’s Republic of China, and his ruthless leader, Xi Jinping. XI and the CCP are followed in second place by XIs equally ruthless, if not as powerful ally in Putin’s Russia, not to mention the unstable nuclear forces of North Korea and Pakistan.
The nuclear arsenal of the Westen-distributed among our allies Great Britain and France and especially in addition to that of Israel and our sometimes friend India combination with our own wonderful, yet in-need-or-modernization nuclear arsenal to keep the most dangerous enemies at bay.
There are only four actual super powers in the world – the quartet of nations that can project nuclear energy that goes much further than their boundaries and who have intelligence and spy opportunities that are unparalleled, except by each other’s possibilities: the United States and Israel on the side of the West and the PRC and Russia on the side of Despotism. All others in the “nuclear club” have imposed limitations due to their own chaotic domestic politics or lack of firepower and the will to use it.
That is the realism of national security in a nutshell.
5 frightening flash points that can ignite the global war
When two of the leaders of one of these four countries meet, this is an important occasion. It is very good that President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu met three times in 2025 and spoke much more often than that.
XI and Putin have only met personally twice this year, but their “partnership” is very close, although XI is to Putin as a Trump for Netanyahu: the senior partners of their powerful but not nearly so powerful junior partners.

This is the fundamental geopolitical structure of the world and only with that understanding of reality can analysts assess what President Trump will get out of his meeting with the Russian Tiran this week – if something is even made public afterwards. It takes months, if not years, to assess what is happening this week.
EU refers to Trump, Zenskyy, comments, no concessions in Ukraine before Putin Ceasefire Agreement
Putin has tried to play every American president since Bill Clinton, sometimes successful, sometimes only fooled for a while. The temptation to “close a deal” with Putin is the same as the apple on the forbidden tree in Genesis. That way ruin lies. But the structure of the tree and the apple can have benefits from close by.
President Trump met Putin six times prior to this week and has often spoken with him. The real estate developer who becomes the president has President so much of the skills that everyone could have to go with such a stone-cold murderer as Putin. Trump not only survived two murder attempts in 2024, but preceded years of Wetfare preceded by the plots of the permanent links embedded in our enormous administrative state during his first term.
Trump is as tough and as resilient as every president since Richard Nixon. There will be no hot microphone whispers of weakness, nor will blunt reviews be pronounced such as those of former vice -president Dick Cheney: “[W]hat I see [in Putin is] A KGB colonel. “
Trump is a realist, just like his old friend from New York in the eighties and early nineties, RN. Trump is as cool as W who is in the ruins of the Twin Towers, as heavy as the real war hero HW, as tough as Reagan, Ford and Ike.

Trump’s destruction of the Iranian nuclear program is the largest building block of his inheritance, only matched by the Abraham agreements. If he can bring a cessation -the Furen to Central Europe that is acceptable to our allies and the Ukrainian people, it will be the third pillar of his legacy, with the fourth -the reconstruction of the US Army in such a powerful force that no one, not China’s XI, dares to be a confrontation with us -. In addition to those four pillars, an era of prosperity and renewed American growth and innovation can rest.

If someone hopes that the president fails in this aim as described, they are not patriots but partisans blind to the reality of the world. There are many of those kinds of partisans in the US, and increasingly our NATO fellow fellow people see themselves are unreliable.
Whether you like it or not, the short-term prospects on Trump, and serious people should prefer President Biden’s weaknesses or the illusions of President Obama.
Trump has faith in his own capacities and serious analysts from Realpolitik should. At this point, after “Midnight Hammer” and the other -the Fires, after all the decade since he came the escalator, there is a very good reason to believe that he can achieve as much as any other American at the table with Putin. Everyone who hopes for their failure must judge their own mental health. It is in the interest of everyone on the planet who does not know “abroad” that breaks out stability everywhere, starting in Alaska this week.
