The Iranian regime-backed Houthi movement launched two missiles at Israel on Saturday, creating a third front for the Jewish state in its ongoing war against the Islamic Republic and its other terror proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The Houthis said they had “attacked sensitive Israeli military locations” with a “barrage of ballistic missiles.” According to YNET, the IDF said it intercepted both a cruise missile and a ballistic missile fired by the Houthis on Saturday morning.

She continued: “The strategy is to prolong the conflict and increase costs. The Houthis are uniquely positioned to do so, given their ability to disrupt critical maritime routes and open additional pressure fronts. If the escalation continues, they will likely resume attacks on the Red Sea and increase pressure on KSA. [Kingdom of Saudi Arabia].”
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Houthis were locked in a war before the Biden administration reportedly forced the Saudi government to halt its military attacks on the Houthis. Biden had also delisted the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization, only so the Trump administration could quickly reimpose the term “terror” on the Houthis in the early days of his second term.

He added: “The Houthis do not control the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, but they can still disrupt shipping in the Red Sea. At the same time, they appear to view Iran as a dead horse and are cautious about betting too heavily on it.”

The Houthis are fanatically anti-American and anti-Israel. The official slogan of the Houthi movement (Ansar Allah) is: “Allah is greater. Death to America. Death to Israel. Curse on the Jews. Victory for Islam.”
The Houthis control most of northwest Yemen. In 2015, they ousted the internationally recognized government from the capital Sanaa.

The Houthis joined Hamas in its war against Israel in mid-October 2023, after the terrorist movement in Gaza invaded Israel and killed more than 1,200 people, including more than 40 Americans. A Houthi drone killed an Israeli civilian in Tel Aviv in 2024.
He added: “The Houthis are making a major strategic mistake by provoking Israel again, which will try to stop the terrorist threat in Yemen. The Houthis have also proven to be a threat to the Saudis, the Emirates, the US and the world.”

Saturday’s attack took place hours before a spokesman for the terrorist group threatened that it was “fingers on the trigger.”
