More than 3,900 film artists, including some of the most celebrated names of Hollywood, have just signed a boycott of Israeli cinema settings. They claim that this is a fundamental position. I call it what it is: a cowardly act that feeds anti -Semitism, punishes Jewish artists and poisons the spirit of creativity.
I’m not Jewish. I don’t claim that heritage. But I don’t have to be Jewish to see wrong. Only common sense tells us that when you choose the only Jewish state of the world, when you focus his filmmakers and artists while you ignore brutal regimes around the world, you don’t stand for justice. You are dressed for intolerance as a virtue. Your empowerment and legitimizing terrorists.

Art is supposed to transcend politics. It is supposed to give voice to the voices, to shed light on human condition and to create empathy about the gap. But this boycott does the opposite. It is silent. It excludes. It says Israeli artists: “Your voice is not part of it.” That’s not art. That is discrimination. That is anti -Semitism. That is despicable.
What is worse is the deafening silence of the Hollywood elite, in particular the Jewish elite. Many of you built careers and fortunes, about stories about courage, identity and overcoming oppression. But when your own people are attacked – when anti -Semitism explodes on campuses, on the street and now in art – too many of you remain on the sidelines, or even worse, join the choir of conviction. The fact that virtually no non-Jews have the moral clarity to call the hatred and bloods of their industry is also a spot that will not be deleted by time or repentance.

To Martin Luther King Jr. To paraphrase: “The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people, but the silence about that by the good people.” Silence in the face of anti -Semitism is surrender. And surrender from within is the most dangerous betrayal of all.

Hollywood is always proud to stand up for the marginalized, the persecuted, the oppressed. But today it is abandoned as standard. Instead, conformity and cowardice govern the day. It is easier to boycott Israelis than to challenge fashionable lies. It is easier to parrot slogans than to defend the truth.
This is not just about Israel. This is about the soul of art itself. When you turn creativity into a political weapon, when you don’t punish people for their talent, but for their identity, kill your art. You replace courage with cowardice, imagination with ideology and beauty with blacklists.

Fortunately, there are a few voices in Hollywood on the right side of history, including Paramount and a letter signed by 1200 entertainment leaders, including your real, those convicted the blacklisters.
Many of us have wondered how the Holocaust could have happened. We no longer needed surprised. They are shades of 1938. Because if you can’t find the courage to defend Jewish artists and the Jewish state, don’t be surprised when history remembers this as the moment that Hollywood lost his conscience, creativity and credibility. We all know who you are.
