Hamas confirmed on Wednesday that it is ready to accept a cease-fire agreement with Israel, but has not endorsed a 60-day break that was presented by President Donald Trump on Tuesday.
Hamas officer Taher al-Nunu said that the terrorist organization “is ready to accept every initiative that clearly leads to the full end of the war.” Trump has increasingly put pressure on Israel and Hamas to accept a ceasefire -but the details of such an agreement have still not been worked out.
A Hamas delegation is expected to meet Egyptian and Qatarese mediates in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss Trump’s proposal, according to an Egyptian officer.
Hamas said earlier that it was willing to release the remaining 50 hostages as part of a cease -the fire agreement, although it has noticed that less than half of the hostages are still alive. In exchange, however, Hamas demands that Israel withdrew completely from Gaza and ended the war.

In the meantime, Israel has said that Hamas must surrender, disarm and banish itself from Gaza.
An Israeli official said that the last proposal evokes a 60-day deal that would include a partial Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and an increase in humanitarian aid to the territory. The mediators and the US would give guarantees about conversations to end the war, but Israel does not connect that as part of the last proposal, the official said.
About 10 hostages would be released under the agreement.

Trump announced it -the -Fires proposal in a Tuesday statement on social media.
“My representatives today had a long and productive meeting with the Israelis on Gaza. Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions for striking it -to complete the 60 -day fires, during which time we will work with all parties to end the war,” Trump wrote about Truth Social.
“The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to bring peace, will deliver this last proposal. I hope, for the well -being of the middle, that Hamas takes this deal, because it will not get better – it will only get worse. Thank you for your attention for this issue!” he added.

“Israel is serious in his will to reach hostages and stops -the Fire Fire,” said Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar on Monday.
