In the past two weeks, federal agents have carried out large-scale workplace attacks in southern California. They jumped out of unark vans and grabbed people off the street without distinction and chased people in agricultural fields. A woman, 9 months pregnant, was arrested in LA; She had to be admitted to the hospital after he has been released. A family with three children, including a three -year -old, was Held two days in a basement of the office Without enough food or water.
Several people who were taken during the raids were deported on the same day that they were arrestedIncreasing serious process problems. American citizens have been harassed and held. And we know that ice increasingly holds thousands of people without other criminal charges or convictions: those who have been arrested without other criminal charges or convictions rose from around 860 to 7,800 this month – an increase of more than 800%. In the meantime, those have been arrested and held of Criminal rights or convictions rose with the much lower rate of 91%. Trump lies over focusing on ‘the worst of the worst’.
Although California is no stranger to enforcement of immigration, we see a dangerous trick for headlines through an administration that believes in cruelty and intimidation. Instead of concentrating on immigrants without papers with serious criminal registers and border security – a strategy that both parties have long supported – the Trump administration pushes massive deportations, focuses on hard -working immigrant families, regardless of their roots or risk, to meet quota.
In response, the daily Californians came out last week and against the tens of thousands last Saturday, to protest against the actions of their government – to exercise their constitutional right to freedom of expression and meeting.
Our system of democracy has been created in immediate opposition against monarchy and designed to strengthen individual freedom and freedom, so that we are never subjected to a king. It is that idea, that holy value, which is destroyed.
California, the home of the free opinion movement, is no stranger to such demonstrations. Our law enforcement officials are well trained to offer security, to guarantee order and to intervene when needed. Last weekend, national and local authorities deployed law enforcement officers, including those of the California Highway Patrol, the LAPD and the Sheriff’s Department. Although there were incidents of violence and material damage, the constitutional and local law enforcement officials recovered.
Those who become violent and destructive – owned by destroying, trying to attack police officers – will be arrested and fully prosecuted from the law. We do not tolerate criminal behavior.
Trump and Newsom about the collision course while the battle for the National Guard intensifies in court
But we know that President Donald Trump is not against lawlessness and violence, as long as it serves him. His alleged care for men and women in uniform is not based on their loyalty to this country and his people, but to him and his business. We need some more evidence than January 6 – and are grace for those involved, including those who attacked violent police officers that day?

It is therefore no surprise that he was in charge of the leadership on our streets without any request or input from me – illegally 4,000 of the National Guard of our State. It was only five years ago President Trump said himself: “We have to go through the laws … We cannot invoke the National Guard unless we are requested by a governor.”
Then, at a time when the best timed to further generate the situation, he deployed more than 700 American Marines. These are men and women who are trained in foreign fights, not in domestic law enforcement. We honor their service and their courage. But We don’t want our streets to be militarized Through our own forces. President Trump has this law betray our soldiers, the American people and our core traditions; Soldiers are ordered to patrol the same American communities that they swore to protect in wars abroad.
The use of federal soldiers in LA does not protect our communities – it traumatizes them. Children are afraid to attend their own graduates. People are afraid to go to work. They arrest dishwashers, gardeners and seamstresses. These are not criminals, these are families; This is not public safety, this is tyranny.

California will continue to fight on behalf of all our people, also in the courts. The president knows, that’s why he attacks us so aggressively. We have brought 26 lawsuits against the Trump administration, and we already have successfully secured a federal court Trump’s illegal acquisition of the California National Guard and the militarization of Los Angeles call.
This is not nearly over yet.

Authoritarian regimes start by focusing on the most vulnerable. But they don’t stop there. Trump and his loyalists thrive on division because it enables them to consolidate power and exercise even more control. If some of us can be thrown away without an order from the street, can only be based on suspicion or skin color, then none of us is safe.
We are at a dangerous moment. We have a sitting president who believes that he is not bound by law, including our constitution. In just over 140 days he has fired government cars that could hold him responsible for corruption and fraud. He has declared the war against culture, history, science and knowledge himself. Databases disappear, archives are robbed and universities are told what they can teach. The judicial branch and the rule of the law are besieged. Journalists and news organizations are goals.
This is about much more than LA, it is about more than California. This is about all of us – it’s about you.

When Donald Trump claimed the general authority to recommend the National Guard, he let that order apply to every state in this nation. California is perhaps the first, but it will not be the last. Other states are the next. Democracy is the next.

Our system of democracy has been created in immediate opposition against monarchy and designed to strengthen individual freedom and freedom, so that we are never subjected to a king. It is that idea, that holy value, which is destroyed.
But our greatest strength has always been to the people. It’s time for all of us to get up.
Former Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis said it best: “In a democracy, the most important political office of the private citizen is.” Not the President’s office nor of the Governor. But it is you, the people who are the most important. It is your voice that should be the hardest.

Many of you feel deep fear, stress and fear. But You Are it antidote to that fear and fear. What Donald Trump wants the most is your loyalty, your silence.
Do not admit to him. Don’t let him win. If we stand together, as neighbors, as communities, such as states, We Will win.
