Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has worked for days on a strategy to block his own members to become a member of Democrats To prevent the approval of legislation for which the DOJ would release the Epstein files.
Johnson understands that every bill that comes out of the house on the Epstein files will have overwhelming support in the Senate, probably enough to ignore a veto from Trump, so the house is Trump’s last line to block the release of the files.
So the The speaker refuses to keep a voice.
What the Republican leadership of the house has decided to do is to close the legislative process by putting the house on ice for 6 weeks.
Meredith Lee Hill van Polico Posted on X:
House rules committee will not return tonight and probably not at all this week in the midst of Epstein + other issues, per sources scalise confirms that the rules “not likely” rules return – which means that house would leave without promoting immigration and various other accounts.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) wants to answer why Republicans close the house for six weeks:
Ummm so let me get this right: Republicans have the congress to a stop and consider eliminating the entire house for 6 weeks to prevent the information they have released over Epstein? What’s going on here?
What is going on here is that Republicans and the White House close it so that members cannot make movements to release the Epstein files, and Trump hopes that the scandal will disappear a half in the coming month.
Huis Republican Leadership is so afraid that the files are released that they are willing to close the house before the Augustus recess, which is usually a busy period before members go home for a month, hoping to stop the momentum behind the release of the files.
If Trump has nothing to hide, why are house republicans this extreme to cover for him?
AOC is right. Something is going on here. Republicans hide the abuse and abuse of women and girls By order of Donald Trump.
