The American district judge Indira Talwani has given a temporary house ban that blocks the relaxation of Planned Parenthood that was included in Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’.
When considering the emergency movement of claimants for a temporarily limiting order and for the time being order [Doc. No. 4] And associated memorandum of rights and supporting statements, and finding a good reason that is shown, it is ordered that the request for a temporarily limiting order is granted.
It is further ordered that:
1. Defendants, their agents, employees, arranged, successors and anyone who is acting with defendants in concert or participation, are maintained by maintaining, retroactively enforcing or otherwise applying the provisions of section 71113 of ‘a law to provide for reconciliation based on title II con. Res. 14 ‘Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts; and Planned Parenthood Association of Utah;
2. Defendants, their agents, employees, arranged, successors and everyone who acts in concert or participation with defendants will take all the necessary steps to ensure that Medicaid financing is paid to Planned Parenthood Federation of America and its members in the usual way and timetables; Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts; and Planned Parenthood Association of Utah.
3. The claimants immediately serve this temporary limiting order to the defendants electronically or in another way that has been authorized by FED. R. Civ. P. 5 (B) (2). Within 72 hours after such a service, the defendants provide a copy of this temporary limiting order to all staff within the Ministry of Health and Human Services and all government agencies involved in the payment of Medicaid financing.
4. The defendants submit a status report to the court that confirms compliance with the defendants within 96 hours after the service of this order. This temporary limiting order remains in force for fourteen days, unless it is abandoned, amended or extended.
It is so arranged.
Republican legislation tried to defend Planned Parenthood by blocking medicaid patients to receive healthcare services at Planned Parenthood. Abortion care is not already allowed on Medicaid, so what the Republicans have discouraged in the name of ‘life’ his health care services for women.
A provision that looks out for a single provider seems to be completely illegal, and the limiting order is hopefully the first step to ensure that Planned Parenthood can offer the services that women need.
