The Food and Drug Administration is expanding the recall of the shrimp with two more products that may have been infected with Cesium-137 (CS-137).
Both products that have recently been added to the recall came from Aquastar Corp., based in Seattle, 26.460 packages cocktail shrimps And about 18,000 bags of Kroger Mercado Cooked medium peeled tail shrimps are pulled out of shelves due to possible radioactive contamination.
The affected cocktail shrimp was sold in Walmart stores in 27 states between July 31 and August 16. The Kroger Mercado Cooked Medium peeled tail shrimps was sold in a transparent plastic bag with a white label with green stripes on each bag. The codes include UPC 011110626196, Lot Code 10662 5139 with a “Best for” Date of 11/19/2027 and LOT code 10662 5140 with a “Best for” date of 11/20/2027.
The FDA advises consumers who have the affected products to remove them or to return them to the place of purchase for a full reimbursement.
