Team USA alpine skier Lindsey Vonn declared Thursday that she “doesn’t give up” like she does shared an excerpt of her training less than a week after she suffered a left knee injury in a crash ahead of this year’s Winter Olympics.
Earlier this week, the 41-year-old gold medalist announced that she is “confident” she will compete in the Milan Cortina Games, despite the torn cruciate ligament she suffered in last Friday’s crash.
Vonn, in the Instagram clip featuring Andy Grammer’s ‘ soundtrackDon’t give up on me”, is seen wearing a brace on her left knee as she does a number of weighted squats, kicks and stretches.
“I’m working as hard as I can to make it happen!” Vonn wrote underneath the clip.
“Thank you to my team and everyone for your incredible support. Keep the faith 🙏🏻❤️.”

Hours after the post, Vonn took to her Instagram Stories, where she shared a photo of a pool along with a time stamp of “9:32 p.m.” and the caption, “Still going…”
Vonn, who said this year’s Winter Olympics would be her last before the injury, was initially scheduled to participate in the downhill training Thursday, but the session was cancelled over heavy snow.
Two more downhill training sessions are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
Vonn expects to participate in the women’s descent on Sunday and wants to evaluate whether she will participate in further competitions.
“As long as I can keep it stable, as long as I have the brace on, as long as I have no swelling and my muscles are activating properly, everything should be fine,” Vonn told reporters in Italy on Tuesday.
“But I can’t guarantee how it will feel once I get into some big corners. We’ll have to see after the first practice sessions.”
Several Olympians showed their love for Vonn at her post, including Team USA rugby star Ilona Maher, who simply said, “Legend.”
Team USA skater Erin Jackson and ice dancer Evan Bates also expressed their support, with Bates writing, “You got this.”
Social media users were stunned by the clip, with oneeven human.”
