The Ukrainian President VolodyMyr Zenskyy will probably opt for a more formal look when he met President Donald Trump in Washington, DC, according to a designer who previously collaborated with the European leader on Monday.
Zenskyy has previously come under fire for his informal clothing and will probably opt for “a more serious look – although less symbolic,” says Gasanova.
“After the recent ‘no pack’ drama, he will probably approach this question differently,” she said.

Zenskyy has sometimes criticized his informal wardrobe, also during his tense visit to the Oval Office. That meeting with Trump and vice -president JD Vance escalated in a heated exchange between the three leaders about what “maps” Ukraine entails and whether Zenskyy is sufficiently grateful for the United States.

“Why don’t you wear a suit? You are at the highest level in the office of this country and we refuse to wear a suit,” a reporter asked Zenskyy at the time. “… do you have a suit?”

Unlike many politicians, the Ukrainian president has no personal stylists, according to Gasanova, who is the founder of Ukrainian Fashion brands Gasanova and Damirli.
Gasanova said she has previously designed clothing items for both Zenskyy and Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zenska.
“We have sent various items to the president’s office – from Vyshyvankas and polos to packs,” she said. “There have only been a few fittings with VolodyMyr – he just doesn’t have time … By the way, it’s stressful for him, because his body is constantly changing.”

The pressure of the complete invasion of Russia has taken a physical toll from Zenskyy, which leads to weight loss during periods in high stress, while regular training helps him rebuild muscle mass, Gasanova said.

“At the moment he is in Brussels and he will decide for himself what to wear tomorrow,” she said.
The upcoming meeting follows just a few days after Trump met Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Alaska to negotiate the war in Ukraine.
The High-Stakes meeting has since been the first US-Russian top June 2021who was under the administration of former President Joe Biden and only eight months before Putin invaded Ukraine.
