Americans – celebrate 2025! The year we discovered that Democrats were wrong about almost everything and that common-sense Americans were always right.
Do you think that’s exaggerated? To consider:
Climate alarmism is dead. It turns out we need oil and gas;
LET’S TEACH OUR CHILDREN WHY AMERICA IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR

- Big government spending, a staple of the Democratic Party’s playbook, leads directly to big fraud;
- DEI programs don’t work;
- More police make for safer streets;
- “Gender-affirming care” is dangerous and wrong.
1. Climate
Perhaps the most consequential change of 2025 was the long-overdue realization that climate alarmism may be more dangerous than climate change. When even billionaire Bill Gates, a climate crusader for many years, hangs up his peaks, something profound has changed. Gates recently wrote a memo admitting that climate change “will not lead to the demise of humanity”; the welcome dose of realism from one of the world’s richest people comes just a year after he wrote a book called “How to Avoid Climate Disaster.”
Watch blue state officials run from climate mandates that have driven up electricity costs and angered voters.
Exhibit one is New York Democrat Kathy Hochul, who recently lifted the damaging de facto ban on natural gas pipeline construction imposed by her predecessor, former Governor Andrew Cuomo.
DEFINING FAIR PLAY: WHY SWING STATE DEMOCRATS ARE OUT OF STAGE IN PROTECTING WOMEN’S SPORTS
After years of adhering to Cuomo’s disastrous climate agenda and seeing electricity rates in New York soar up to 40% above the national average, Hochul in November approved key permits for the Williams Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) natural gas pipeline, angering climate campaigners. Hochul said energy needs and grid reliability dictated the change. For a woman who wants to ban gas stoves, that was quite a turnaround.

Both Gates and Hochul are aligned with the business community, which has quietly abandoned environmental goals as the need for power to fuel AI databases takes precedence. The reality is that trillions of dollars of investments in renewable fuels have done little to reduce demand for oil, gas and coal.
Also, the cost to Western countries of stifling their economies to reduce carbon emissions has become too high, especially since China, India and other developing countries are today’s largest emitters and do not adhere to such rules. As Gates wrote, the focus should be on improving lives – here and around the world – not on blindly trying to curb fossil fuels.

2. Big government
Under President Joe Biden, Democrats have unnecessarily spent trillions of dollars, driving our deficits relative to the economy to levels never seen before except during major wars. The flow of money not only fueled decades of high inflation, but also opened the door to massive fraud, losing hundreds of billions of taxpayers’ money.
More recently, the country has uncovered a still-developing scandal in which Minnesota’s Somali community allegedly stole as much as $9 billion in funds intended to feed hungry children and house the homeless.
CONSERVATIVE GROUPS CHOOSE 2025 TO BE A TILTING POINT FOR ‘CLIMATE HYSTERIA’ AS TRUMP Abandons ENERGY AGENDA
Democrats (and sometimes Republicans) hope to attract voters by handing out money; they know that if citizens become dependent on generous benefits, they will vote to continue the good times.
But someone has to pay for free stuff; that poor thing is the taxpayer, who will eventually revolt. As blue states raise taxes to feed their welfare machines, they drain businesses and residents who flee to lower-tax states like Florida and Texas. In short: big government doesn’t work. Never has, and never will.
3. DEI
Early on, President Donald Trump ended what he called the “illegal and immoral” DEI programs that Biden had implemented in all corners of the federal government. Biden’s Executive Order, “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities through the Federal Government,” required nearly every federal agency — including air traffic control and the military — to submit “Equity Action Plans,” leading to “enormous public waste and shameful discrimination.”
Inspired by the president’s opposition to virtue signaling programs, companies, aware that such efforts divide their employees and fuel resentment, quietly left DEI by the wayside.
Under President Joe Biden, Democrats have unnecessarily spent trillions of dollars, driving our deficits relative to the economy to levels never seen before except during major wars.
In February, Accenture’s CEO wrote a memo to staff saying the massive professional services firm was shelving its DEI program because it had “substantially achieved its objectives” and “we are and always have been a meritocracy.” Dozens of companies, including Pepsico, Disney, Blackrock, McDonalds, Ford, Walmart and others, followed suit.
In 2016, Harvard Business School published a report on “Why Diversity Programs Fail,” which found that decades of mandatory diversity efforts had made little progress because, studies found, “force-feeding can activate biases rather than eradicate them.” That is still the case today.
4. Police help
You would think it would be obvious that deploying more police would reduce crime. But leftists in the US continue to insist, based on ideology rather than common sense or evidence, that law enforcement is the problem, not the solution.
The far left has taken control of the Democratic party platform, and that is turning voters away
Trump sent the National Guard to the streets of DC, and they became safer. Hochul called in the National Guard to protect New York’s subways, and it’s no surprise that they became less dangerous. This isn’t rocket science.

5. ‘Gender-affirming care’
Allowing young people to permanently change gender is an atrocity that is thankfully outlawed in much of Europe and is now banned in 27 states. Because there is still a group in the US that is strangely engaged in promoting this heinous activity, activists continue to push for its legality. They are filing a lawsuit to overturn the Supreme Court’s ruling United States v. Skrmetti that a Tennessee law banning gender-affirming care does not constitute discrimination on the basis of sex and does not violate the U.S. Constitution.
The left is convinced that underage children, often without their parents’ knowledge, should be allowed to mutilate their own bodies and permanently destroy their reproductive capacity. It is difficult to imagine a more cruel campaign.

Fortunately, common sense prevailed in 2025 on these five issues. Let’s hope 2026 continues the trend and perhaps brings wisdom about the recklessness of open borders and the shame of our public education system and complicit teacher unions.
In the meantime, we have a lot to celebrate!
