The Democrats are becoming aggressive with their actions to differentiate between the wealthy elites who have shut down the government, leaving hundreds of thousands of federal workers without pay, while still collecting paychecks.

Other members of Congress have introduced legislation to prevent members of the House of Representatives and Senate from getting paid during the shutdown, but Rep. John Larson not only doesn’t want to pay members of Congress, he also doesn’t want to pay Donald Trump, JD Vance and White House officials.
In addition to ensuring that Congress does not pay during the shutdown, Larson’s account also states that Trump and Vance are not paid:
(a) Holding salaries in an escrow account. If a government shutdown is in effect on any day during any pay period occurring during the term of office of the President or Vice President, the Director of the Office of Personnel Management shall: (1) Deposit into an escrow account and exclude from payments otherwise required to be made with respect to such pay period for the compensation of the President and Vice President an amount equal to the product of: (A) the President’s daily salary or vice president (as the case may be) under applicable law; And
(B) the number of 24-hour periods during the payroll period in which the government shutdown is in effect; and (2) shall not release amounts deposited to the President in an escrow account under paragraph (1) and shall not be released by the Vice President until the expiration of the period described in subsection (b).
There’s even more potentially bad news for the White House in the story that continues below.
