The reversal of the Trump Doj about the release of information about the Jeffrey Epstein case did not go unnoticed by Democrats in the Judiciary Committee house.
The Democrats, led by Ranklijst Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), wrote to Attorney General Pam Bondi and demanded that the Ministry of Justice stopped protecting Trump.
The Democrats of the Judicial Committee wrote:
This government has repeatedly claimed that President Trump “is the most transparent and accessible president in American history.” So far, your DOJ has not only realized this promise, but you are also consistently hidden from the American public material and the information that can be harmful to President Trump. Earlier last month, Elon Musk, the former senior adviser to President Trump and Head of the Ministry of Government Efficiency, posted on his social media website, X, that President Trump is “in the Epstein files. That is the real reason why they were not made public.” His tweet, which has since been removed, clearly referred to records with regard to Jeffrey Epstein’s investigation, the convicted sex offender, in the possession of the FBI and Doj.
During his confirmation hearing, director Patel promised to release the Epstein files, which stated that he would “ensure that the American audience knows the full weight of what happened.” In February 2025 you became in an intense public criticism after releasing the “first phase” of approximately 200 pages of the Epstein files that largely consisted of information that was already public. Then you reportedly ordered hundreds of FBI agents, many of whom usually focused on national security matters, to revise the Epstein files. Agents who were assigned for this review reportedly clocked more than 100 hours of work during the most recent two -week payment period, including a marathon session last weekend, in which they slept at agencies pending new batches of Epstein Records to process. “
