One of the benefits of the Republican decision to postpone medicaid cuts until after the 2028 elections is that there is time to change situations. One of the biggest changes that could be on the horizon is Democrats who take control of the whole or part of the congress in the interim elections of 2026.
The medicaid cuts have turned out to be so unpopular that Democrats think they can be easily withdrawn.
Congress democrats are already planning how they can reverse the recently installed Medicaid-Inenschiningen of the Republicans if they take the house or the majorities of the Senate in 2026.
And they are particularly convinced that they get the Gop voices they need to do it.
..
“There is a very realistic prospect that the voices to cut Medicaid, will be one of the least popular voices in congress history, and that it might be fairly easy to bring about the withdrawal as soon as people see and understand what these crazy people did,” Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Dr.i. Semafor told you, adding a joke faux republican voice: ” Get me away here! Get me away here! “”
…
Some Republicans already indicate that they are open to an intervention. Senator Josh Hawley, R-MO., Has repeatedly said that he hopes to ensure “There are no medicoids that come into force.”
On the Senate side, it looks at least as if many Republicans consider the cuts as a budgetary gimmick that was intended to make the tax reduction on paper appear better. Various senate republicans have been quoted as willing to postpone an indefinite period of time or to delete the cutbacks.
All this cannot happen unless Democrats get control of the house, where the most extreme medicaid cutters currently occupy the majority.
If Democrats get the majority of the house, they can immediately use deadlines for budget to demand a withdrawal of the Medicaid cuts. Trump is stuck in his own delusion that Medicaid is not cut, and there are enough senators to kill the cuts without a democratic majority in the Senate to make them happen.
The only thing needed is that Democrats have some power and have a chair at the table to demand the cuts.
Republicans have made it clear that they do not want the cutbacks to have medicaid due to the delay in the implementation.
Democrats are much better in the administration than Republicans, and at the moment Democrats see an opening and lay the foundation to make Medicaid -cuts disappear, but to do this, they need your votes in 2026.
What do you think of Democrats who are planning to withdraw the Medicaid cuts?
