Where the mayor race in New York City is in a new poll
The 33-year-old, born legislator from Queens, shocked the political world in June by counting Cuomo and nine other candidates to conquer the Democratic Primary and take a big step towards the first Muslim and first Millennial Mayor of New York City.
Mamdani rose to a primary victory thanks to an energetic campaign that set an important focus on affordability and the high costs of living of New York City. It was fed by a grassroots army of supporters and support from the best national progressive champions, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York and Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont.
‘The Bottom Line’ panel members Steve Moore and Ned Ryun discuss the impact of socialist policy throughout the country, because the policy of the mayor of NYC Zohran Mamdani is being picked apart.
Mamdani made smart use of social media platforms, including TIKTOK, while caught up with low pre-purple voters. He suggested eliminating rates to run on the huge bus system of New York City, so that Cuny (City University of New York) made ‘tuition fees’, the rental prices for municipal homes, ‘free childcare’ for children up to 5 years old and the government -run supermarkets.
To pay for his expensive proposals, Mamdani proposes a tax on millionaires who live in New York City. And that is a great concern for business leaders, some of whom are afraid of a Mamdani victory in the general elections of November will cause an exodus of rich New Yorkers.
Almost every recent poll in the mayor of New York City indicates that Mamdani has a healthy double figures ahead of Cuomo and the rest of the field.
