According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Chrysler is recalling more than 450,000 vehicles and more than 2,000 trailer hitch modules due to a brake light defect that could increase the risk of a crash.
The recall affects 456,287 vehicles and an additional 2,871 tractor trailer modules, the NHTSA said in a pair of notices Monday.
The affected vehicles contained the defective modules, which the agency said were not properly designed.

The modules affected by the recall may cause the brake lights on attached trailers to fail to illuminate, or the trailer brakes to fail completely, impairing visibility and increasing the risk of accidents.
