Democrats oppose ICE airport deployment
Jonathan Fahey, former deputy assistant secretary of DHS, discusses Democrats’ opposition to deploying ICE agents at airports and criticizes Chicago’s sanctuary city policy after an illegal Venezuelan migrant is accused of killing an 18-year-old.
Sometimes the most important thing in life is getting to know people. Since Immigration and Customs Enforcement began helping shorten lines at our nation’s airports in recent weeks, much of the country has come to know them, much to the chagrin of lying Democrats.
Take podcaster Charlamagne tha God, who was a fierce critic of ICE tactics during the Trump administration. Here’s what he had to say about his encounters with the officers at a New York airport:
“They were great, to be honest. To be honest, I’m like, and for that particular terminal I flew out of LaGuardia, I forgot which terminal it was, but yeah, they were extra nice, just like Chick-fil-A employees.”

This has been the common experience of most of the millions of air travelers lately, and it is beginning to dissipate some of the harsh rhetoric calling ICE agents fascists and even Nazis.
SOROS-SUPPORTED DA KRASNER THREATENS ICE AGENTS AT PHILLY AIRPORT: ‘I WILL PUT HANDCUFFS ON YOU’
However, despite burnishing ICE’s image, Democrats are still holding the country hostage with their senseless defunding of the Department of Homeland Security, leaving thousands of ICE workers behind the scenes without pay.
The reason Democrats are clinging to this fantastical story of out-of-control ICE agents stalking our nation is because they think that after a few failed attempts, they have finally found an effective way to smear law enforcement.
We all remember the attempts to portray police as evil during the George Floyd riots. But the problem for Democrats was that too many people know about the police. They were too obvious a part of our lives to blatantly lie about.
‘THE VIEW’ HOST SARA HAINES ADMITS ICE AGENCIES MUST FILL LAST AIRPORT AS TSA FIGHTS
Then, during the Biden administration, it was Border Patrol agents who were portrayed as evil, right down to mounted border agents who were falsely accused of beating migrants in Texas, when even the person who shot the video immediately said there was no whipping, just a loosening of the reins.
It would have been funny if the government, including then-DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayaorkas, had not kept up the lie for almost a year before sheepishly admitting the mistake.

ICE agents presented a new and juicy opportunity for the left to attack law enforcement when the second Trump administration began, because unlike police, no one really knows ICE agents, and, unlike the Border Patrol, they operated not just at the border, but in our communities.
Charlamagne Baffled By Airport Ice Agents Who Are EFFICIENT AND NICE ‘LIKE CHICK-FIL-A EMPLOYEES’
Democrats raised concerns about ICE agents wearing masks to protect themselves and their families from doxxing. They pretended that streamlined training programs meant that racist yahoos were just given guns and badges and told to round up brown people.
When a coordinated left-wing campaign of intimidation was eventually launched against ICE in Minneapolis, it predictably led to the tragic deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. This gave Democrats all the excuses they needed to close DHS and throw sand in the wheels of government.
But today, after the Boy Scout routine to speed up air travel, and after Trump replaced the hyper-aggressive Kristi Noem with the more measured Markwayne Mullin as DHS secretary, a move that Democrats called for, the shutdown seems absurd.
TOP DEMS CLAIM THERE IS RISK ICE AGENTS COULD ‘KILL’ TRAVELERS UNDER TRUMP AIRPORT PLAN
This didn’t stop Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed from appearing on stage Tuesday with anti-Semitic heartthrob Hasan Piker and saying, “ICE cannot be reformed, ICE cannot be curbed, ICE must be abolished.”
El-Sayed, who has said many of his voters are mourning the death of Ayatollah Khameini, does not want to enforce immigration laws, even in light of recent Islamic terror attacks, including the attack on a synagogue in Michigan.

The administration can learn a lot from the charm offensive at the airport, and perhaps there is a chance for a turnaround.
HOUSE DEMOCRATS VOTE TO KEEP DHS CLOSED AS FUNDING EXPIRES DAY 40
In fairness to Noem, she was tasked with creating an image of ICE that was a little scary. In her now infamous TV ads, she warned that anyone found here illegally, not just the worst of the worst, would be deported.
A strong argument can be made that this aggressive stance has contributed to the two million self-deportations we have seen so far under Trump 2.0.

But the number of people willing to deport themselves is likely finite, meaning it may be time for ICE to take a more targeted approach. That makes the country less vulnerable to the lies of the Democrats.
At our airports, ICE agents melted the hearts of the traveling public. Now they must do the same to the rest of the nation.
