The British authorities grabbed 2.4 tons of cocaine in a ship in England from Panama, said the authorities on Saturday and called it one of the greatest drug fractures in the UK in years.
The drugs, with a value of $ 132 million, were found under containers on a ship in London Gateway Port, east of the British capital. The shipment was discovered after what civil servants said was an operation guided by information.

UK Border Force Maritime Director Charlie Eastaugh said that the seizure was “only one example of how dedicated border force maritime officers stay a step ahead of the criminal gangs who threaten our safety.
“Our message to these criminals is clear-more than ever before we use information and international cooperation in the field of law enforcement to disturb and dismantle your activities.”

Great -Britain is one of Europe’s largest markets for cocaine, according to the National Crime Agency. The British government says that cocaine-related deaths in England and Wales increased by 31% between 2022 and 2023.
