“He has to run because she can’t.”
“She” was vice -president Kamala Harris. “He” was President Joe Biden. The message was clear: Biden had to run because his team did not believe she could do it.
“Why did you chose her in the first place?” I asked while I sank back in my chair on Brightstar, the plane of the First Lady.

We were instructed to parrot one line – “Nobody walks for President for four years.” That was the strategy.
The coming book by Harris, according to recently released excerpts, says what insiders whispered for years: the Biden Bubble was full of bullying heads. The former vice president finally says the silent part out loud.
Kamala Harris complains about ‘impossible’ lack of support from Biden’s Comms team, Inner Circle
Biden won the most votes from everyone for president in the history of our country. But he has never won the hearts and spirits of the American people, and especially not of his own party. That fragile foundation collapsed quickly.
The White House of Biden was filled with his share of cartoonist characters from a poorly cast high school version of “West Side Story”. They thought they were a “bfd” because they had worked in an earlier administration or because our campaign defeated the opportunities and defeated expectations. But they did not have instincts for the changing media and the political landscape – and no instinct for politics as it is now lived and practiced in the erald Trump era.
Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi was more direct: “I have never been so impressed by his political operation,” referring to the Biden team.
There was no pragmatic truth narrator, because no one admitted that we were not a movement. We waved as if we had won the mandate of President Barack Obama or his congress majorities. We didn’t have it. We lost 13 Democratic House seats on the way inside. From the moment Biden won the nomination, no one wanted to admit it obvious: Democrats felt us stuck with us, not inspired by us.
Harris indicates that Biden is ‘tired,’ denies ‘conspiracy’ to hide mental decline
In the White House, the Regina Georges of Biden’s Circle ruled as a common girls and claimed loyalty. The staff did not serve president and first lady – they served a cult. You never knew when Regina was in charge or when the bids were. It was all blurry.
Joe and Jill Biden were warm, decent, empathetic. But they made some of the dirtiest and most common people I have ever encountered in politics, possible. The BIDen era defines that contradiction.

I once believed in Joe Biden. After I had heard him and Jill Barnburner’s speeches during the Gala of the Human Right Campaign 2018, I was convinced that he was the champion who took Trump. If someone who has passed ruthless bullying grow up, the words of Biden about standing up for LGBT youth resonated. I was determined to participate in his efforts.
A year later, Biden was in the race and I was the main spokesperson for his very influential and active husband.
Kamala Harris Scolds ‘steps on’ against Joe Biden when he was asked to separate himself during the 2024 campaign
In the summer of 2020, Jill re -introduced himself into the country while launching ‘Joey’, her children’s book about the young Joe Biden – a natural leader who came up with bullies.
“School was where the bullies were.” He stood up for himself and “also defended others against bullies,” Jill wrote.
Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi was more direct: “I have never been so impressed by his political operation,” referring to the Biden team.
“We were expected to get up against bullies,” Valerie Biden Owens wrote in her memoirs, “Growing up Biden.”
The last mission of Biden, he said, was to save the country from Trump – who regard Democrats as the ultimate bully.
Kamala Harris had a profane message for governors who are not allowed to support Biden
But bullies are everywhere, even among Democrats, and despite his brand – even around Biden.
When I entered the loaded world of part -time punditry, there were times when I questioned the strategic direction of the Biden re -election effort. When the economic message was “Bidenomics works”, I explained why it was a mistake and alternatives pushed. When the polls were bad, I said that. How can I say that the air is red if we all know it is blue?
“It will always feel like friendly fire for them,” warned MSNBC television host Nicolle Wallace Me. “But all you have is your credibility,” she emphasized.
I wanted to be taken seriously, not just a robot that regulated thoughtless talk points. I brought my love for and personal loyalty to the Biden family in balance with candid and thoughtful analysis.
But the president’s bullies didn’t see it that way. For them I had picked up the team sweater by pointing out missed opportunities and mistakes, so they came for me.
The example that they tried to make me was intended to serve as a warning for every democrat that was concerned before 2024. The same bullying heads that claimed to serve a president who despised bullies sent me a message: silence or we will humiliate you.
Over time, however, the roots of their uncertainty would be revealed to the whole world at a debate stage, a tragic June evening in Atlanta. The bullies of Biden and their intimidation tactics would crumble in the course of four long, warm, summer weeks – together with their credibility.
Bullying does not win. They implode.

Biden’s bullies dragged him down – and tried to drag Harris. Now they are out for her – again.
We recently saw a glimpse of that revenge when a few of my former teammates reacted with Ugly, and of course blind quotes on the release of Harris’s book fragments.
In the White House, the Regina Georges of Biden’s Circle ruled as a common girls and claimed loyalty.
But Harris does not bend so far. Not this time. She sees what I saw. What we all saw in the end. And she is standing up against them.

While she launches her book tour on MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow”, I hope she keeps talking with unfiltered frankness about her experience.
Take it from this Democrat. She will sleep better at night.
