Bernie Sanders went into the home town of Shreveport, La of the speaker Mike Johnson for a fighting oligarchy rally, and he did not disappoint.
Sanders hit all the themes of our current society and inequality, and more importantly how people at the top control the largest media stores, so that issues of inequality are not treated and reported.
Sanders also went behind Mike Johnson’s assumed moral component of tax cuts for the rich:
A few weeks ago speaker Johnson said that there was a quote-under skin, moral component for this reconciliation law. Now I don’t know that there is a religion on earth that believes it is appropriate. To remove food from hungry children to give tax benefits to the richest people.
I do not know that there is a religion on earth that says that your health care takes away from people who desperately need.
In my opinion it is absolutely necessary as a nation that we not only beat this bill and I will work as hard as I can do next week and the coming weeks.
But it is just as important that we develop and fight for a new vision of what America could be.
Sanders also detailed in the Red State what the Trump/Johnson legislation really does.
Video of Sanders who tells the truth about the BBB:
Sanders said:
At a time when so many of our people cannot afford healthcare when families have difficulty putting food on the table and we have children in Louisiana and Vermont who are hungry. Children cannot afford to go to university. Mr Johnson’s bill does almost everything wrong, but let me tell a word about what the bill is not about.
Mr. Johnson said in his billboard that people like me want to raise taxes on families in the working class, and that is absolutely not true. Nobody in the congress does not believe anyone. That we should not re -authorize the tax revisions that protect the working class. That is a fake issue, but let me tell you what this account is doing.
