The Australian government says that it will expel two Iranian diplomats after claiming that the Islamic Republic was behind at least two anti -Semitic attacks in Sydney and Melbourne.
Speaking with reporters, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that the most important domestic espionage agency in the country, Asio, had collected sufficiently credible intelligence to draw a deeply disturbing conclusion. ”
“The Iranian government directed at least two of these attacks,” said Albanese, referring to recent attacks on a restaurant in Sydney and a Melbourne synagogue. “Iran has tried to hide his involvement, but Asio assesses that it was behind the attacks.”
The Australian government informed Iran’s ambassador in Australia shortly before the Albanian announcement that they would be deported. It also withdrew Australian diplomats who were placed in Iran to a third country.

Anti -Semitic incidents in both Melbourne and Sydney rose steeply after the massacre of 7 October 2023 in Israel that caused the current offensive of Israel on Gaza.
The Prime Minister also said that Australia intends to designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.

“History will remember Albanians for what he is: a weak politician who has betrayed Israel and has left the Jews of Australia,” said Netanyahu.
