After California won in court and had considered Trump of Troops in Los Angeles as illegal, Washington, DC, followed by Trump for an illegal troop deployment in their city.

DC did not ask or agreed to the use of National Guard troops. Yet there are 2,300 national guards on our streets in military equipment, with weapons and armored vehicles. Their commitment at DC violates the Home Rule Act that was determined by the congress 52 years ago.
National guards were delegated by the American Marshals to perform law enforcement functions in DC. This includes the authority to perform warrants, hold people and to make arrests. Some guards were instructed to wear firearms and to feed armed patrols in residential areas.
The Posse Commitatus Act prohibits the army to deal with domestic police work. Nevertheless, the administration launched a massive, indefinite law enforcement operation in DC under Military Command. This is clearly illegal and it threatens our democracy and civil liberties.
There is no clear end date for this illegal commitment – more troops have arrived in DC this week. An executive order of 25 August even sends the establishment of a special DC National Guard unit to “maintain federal law”. And even as soon as troops leave, they can be used again at any time.
The damage to the district is huge. National guard units work without legal authority and without training for law enforcement. They create confusion, sow fear, erode trust, cause tensions and harm the crucial relationship between police and communities that they serve.
The use of the National Guard does not only undermine public safety. It also damages the economy of DC – depressing vital industries such as restaurants, hotels and tourism. And critical, it infringes the sovereign authority of DC and the right to self -government under the Home Rule Act.
We complain to defend the DC home rule and to stop the illegal deployment of the National Guard. Our nation is based on the fundamental principles of freedom and self -administration that are interested in this case. No city in America may be subject to involuntary military occupation.
The Trump administration has done such a bad work to implement this policy that they have left legal gaps large enough to drive through a truck, which could even win the city in court with the unique status of DC.
Trump switched strongly by trying to take over the police in the district and the use of armed national guard troops. It is against the law for every federal army to deal with civil law enforcement on American soil.
The ruling in California, which is attractive to the administration, has given the reasons for other cities and states to sue when Trump tries the same tactics.
Trump’s rates are ruled as illegal. Trump’s National Garde deployment California is ruled as illegal.
Looking at the big whole, the country and democracy seem to push back and Trump’s efforts to build a regime can be overthrown.
