A new senate report warns that artificial intelligence could move nearly 100 million American jobs in the following decade, stimulating democrats to insist on a “robot tax” on companies that replace human employees with technology.
The analysis produced by Democratic Staffers on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (Help) Committee was powered by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

The Senate Report also outlines a labor agenda, including a 32-hour working week, a federal minimum wage of $ 17, stronger overtime protection and the use of employees in automated industries.
The authors emphasize that the impact of AI is “not predetermined”, but depends on policy choices that have now been made.
