An Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner turned and went back to his point of origin after taking off, only a few days after the airline had experienced a deadly crash that killed 241 people on board.
The Air India flight AI315 returned to Hong Kong on Monday as a precautionary measure because of “a technical problem”, the airline told Reuters. The flight went to New Delhi before he returned safely and underwent checks “from a matter of abundant precautions.”
Flight AI315 departed from Hong Kong around 12:20 pm, reached a height of 22,000 feet and started to fall, according to the flight website Airnav Radar. The plane is seven years old, Reuters reports.
One of the pilots told Air Traffic Controllers about 15 minutes after taking off that “for technical reasons, sir, we want to stay closer to Hong Kong, perhaps we will come back and return to Hong Kong as soon as we solve the problem,” said Air Traffic Control Monitoring Website Liveatc.net rated by Reuters.

There was only one survivor of the Boeing 787-8 crash on Thursday who shortly after the start of the Indian city from Ahmedabad. The plane was on its way to London Gatwick Airport.
Viswashkumar Rameh, the only survivor, described his survival as a “miracle” while spoke with DD India.
