The media spent much of Joe Biden’s presidency complaining that Biden’s voice was soft and that he spoke in whispers. The press and Republicans pointed to Biden’s speaking style as a symptom of age and decline.
The days of Donald Trump having a loud voice and projection seem to be over. Trump spoke in a husky, low voice that made him seem almost 80 years old.
The president would talk about business and the relationship between the American and Saudi business communities. The Saudis are still keen to portray themselves as big spenders, but the Saudi regime has cut back on its territory while funneling money around projects to create the illusion of unlimited wealth. In reality, the Saudis have been looking for outside investors to invest in Saudi Arabia.
So in some ways, a weak and unpopular person trying to project an illusion of power while speaking against a murderous regime that projects the illusion of unlimited wealth is a perfect fit.
The problem is that Trump’s physical appearance negates his expectations of strength. Trump seems increasingly vulnerable and weak.
Even more dangerous, it is Trump’s ghost sending out a red alert every time he speaks.
Trump claimed that woke is virtually illegal in the US: “We don’t have woke in this country anymore. It’s virtually illegal. But you’re going to have some wokesters and we don’t want to do that. We want to get the AI done.”
