A new video has emerged showing what could be the Louvre thieves in action as they pulled off a daylight heist at Paris’ world-famous museum on Sunday.
The images were obtained by the French broadcaster BFMTVreportedly shows what has been called one of the most brazen art thefts in recent history.
The short clip appears to show someone in the Louvre’s Apollo Gallery, where some of the museum’s most priceless treasures are found.
Footage taken by an anonymous bystander shows a person in a bright yellow jacket standing next to a glass display case.

The amateur footage was replayed for BFMTV, which filmed the screen of that phone and verified it on Sunday. The Associated Press has not been able to independently confirm its authenticity.
According to French authorities, the thieves carried out a highly coordinated operation that took place just after the museum opened to the public in the morning.
Around 9:30 a.m., thieves used a basket lift to reach the facade of the Louvre, forcing open a window to gain access to the Gallery of Apollo, where the royal jewels are on display.

According to reports, the group made off with jewelry that once belonged to Napoleon III’s court, including pieces from Empress Eugénie’s personal collection.
After the robbery, Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez spoke to the radio station France Inter and said the thieves “entered from outside using a basket lift” and “a disc cutter” to cut windows containing valuable jewelry.

“The investigation has begun and a detailed list of the stolen items is being compiled,” the ministry also said in a statement. “In addition to their market value, these items have invaluable heritage and historical value.”

The Louvre remained closed Monday as investigators searched the scene and reviewed surveillance footage.
