President Donald Trump sent letters to 17 pharmaceutical companies on Thursday with regard to reducing the prices of medicines.
White House Pers Secretary Karoline Leavitt said during her press briefing that Trump sent the letters after one executive order Earlier this year.

“The president signed an executive order earlier this year to solve the problem of exorbitant pharmaceutical prices,” said Leavitt. “According to recent data, the prices that Americans have paid for medicines from brand name are more than three times the price that other comparable, comparable developed countries pay. The president is determined to solve this problem and has taken further action today. He has signed 17 letters to the CEOs of pharmaceutical companies.”
Leavitt then read a letter sent to the CEO of Eli Lilly and then said that all letters would be made available to the press after the briefing.
