The cabinet meetings of Donald Trump have always been about a made-TV event that was intended to praise the president. The staged events have long been ridiculous by observers and comedians in the late night, but the administration has not prevented from organizing these events and cable news traveling over themselves to cover them.
Occasionally some unintentional news is made.
On Tuesday Trump responded to the tragedy of Texas Flash Flood and his reaction was a political disaster.
Trump said:
The relationships of the Governor have been very good with me the years. But the relationship with Texas and their first responds and us, with our first responds and many other people. We have brought many helicopters from everywhere. We had many helicopters. Actually dangerous, many helicopters above it. But they were real professionals and responsible for taking out many people. We have them there quickly. And Texas also had some good ones.
But the answer was incredible. And the fact that we can go so well with each other, I don’t even think that is something political. But we were able to get along so well. It was so united. I think a lot of lives have been saved. No matter how bad it was, you could have losing double or triple. This thing was just very terrible. Congratulations on a great job. Understandings about a great job.

The part that Trump had left out was that hundreds of people died.
There was no curiosity of Trump’s side why this tragedy took place. Trump has never sworn to get to the bottom how many people could die from a flash flow with all technology and warning systems available in 2025. This is not 100 years ago. Americans should not die in such large numbers in a flood, and as hundreds of dying, There must be an investigation to find out why.
The fact that Trump tries to run and get credit is a sign that he tries to avoid responsibility and does not want people to ask what happened.
The cabinet meeting was a disaster, and the propaganda that Trump tried to spread, was undone by his own need to praise himself for failure.
