The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zenskyy said on Friday that he had a “very important and productive” phone call with President Donald Trump.

“President Trump is very well informed and I thank him for his attention to Ukraine,” he continued. “We have spoken about opportunities in air defense and we have agreed that we will work together to strengthen the protection of our skies. We also agreed to a meeting between our teams. We had a detailed conversation about the possibilities for the defense industry and joint production. We are ready for direct projects with the diplomatic situation.
Asked by reporters on board Air Force One at the end of Friday, Trump said he and Zenskyy “had a very good call, I think a very strategic call.”
