We are almost halfway through the first year of the second Trump government, and the American people see something unprecedented in American politics in the 21st century: the development and implementation of a large strategy.
Critics and talking heads have tried to paint President Donald Trump as brash and careless, especially when it comes to foreign relations and international matters. Nothing could be further from the truth. Since the beginning, Trump has been clear that the interests of America are his interests, and he has designed the great strategy of America around American priorities.
Critics say that the Trump doctrine causes chaos. Not so. The chaos caused by the lack of designs of earlier presidents and their advisers alone made it necessary for a radical course correction. In other words, what Trump has done this year, has also opened new opportunities for cooperation and trade in regions that were overlooked in earlier administrations. The Midden -East is a good example.
Trump exerted ‘maximum pressure’ on Iran and Israel to ‘deliver peace’: Leavitt
For decades, the only story that came from the region was conflict. Trump saw that over and identified opportunities for trade, trade and cooperation. This has directly led to a transformation in foreign relations with many Central Eastern and golf countries and new partnerships that have the potential to bring about a revolution in the involvement of America in the area – as well as the US economy.

That was not the only goal of Trump. During his journey to the region, he also laid the foundation for Iran’s insulation. Nobody wants the Iran problem. Even Syria-a Iranian ally in the long term looks from the sidelines.
The Trump government at the same time has the blanket “Isolationist” and “Warmonger” caricatures, which do not contain water after strategic strikes against iranium enrichment facilities. These were calculated strikes that sent two important messages.
American military vulnerabilities threaten Trump’s ‘peacefulness’ strategy
First, it was a memory that America supports its allies. Israel fights against constant opposition long before the second Trump government started. The only beacon of democracy in the Middle East has performed an admirable task by weakening the state and non-powerful actors that not only threaten the existence of the state of Israel, but also democratic values that are based on all free societies.

Israel has been brave when other countries are huddled. And they did it without asking for help. This is something that has distinguished Israel. The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has always recognized that Israel has to fight for himself and has the ultimate responsibility for his own defense.
Trump honored that position and used the unparalleled army of America to support Israel through bomb attacks that neutralized goals that were important for America, Israel and the rest of the free world.
Trump reforms our foreign policy with a hugely successful, business journey in the Middle East
This reminded the other allies of America that the Trump government is ready and willing to work together when priorities are coordinated. The fact that this happened for NATO meeting shows how extensive the new American doctrine is. It is also no coincidence that NATO agreed to support Trump’s recommendation that 5% of GDP goes to defense issues.
The second message that Trump has sent is that he is always open to diplomacy. It is even his preference. Iran was repeatedly warned about the use of violence. They were encouraged to find a peaceful solution and explicitly told the consequences if they continued to violate the JCPOA agreement. Only when it became clear that Iran was not interested in negotiations, military violence was used.

It is important that that was not the end of the story. Soon after the strikes were completed, Trump started working on peace again and personally worked with top officials to get a ceasefiring -the fire between Israel and Iran. Force was only used in an attempt to bring both parties to the negotiating table.
These are not the actions of a Warmtonger or an isolationist. They are the actions of a peace strategist. Someone who is priceless to put his country first on the stage of the world, but opens the hand of friendship and cooperation for those who are willing to come together to achieve shared goals. Sounds a bit like President Ronald Reagan, who ended the Cold War without firing a shot.
