Rafael Grossi, director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said: “We have confirmed that Iran has enough material for different nuclear heads even now.
“But this should not be equated with a nuclear weapon,” Grossi continued and added: “We don’t have at the moment, if you currently ask me tangible evidence that there is a program or a plan to produce a nuclear weapon.”

Inspectors of the Grossi office, the nuclear watchdog of the United Nations, have the task of monitoring Iran’s nuclear activities. The IAEA has not been able to carry out inspections since Israel started attacking sites earlier this month, but has made extensive use of satellite images.
“I think there have been a number of important military attacks and consequences,” he said. “But it is very clear and everyone agrees that not everything is eliminated.”
He also argued that only military action would not be sufficient to undo what Iran has learned from nuclear research in different decades.

“One thing is the physical damage,” said Grossi. “But then there is the knowledge factor and the fact that it is very difficult to reverse the knowledge that a country has gained.”
Iran has blamed Israel for the murders on several Iranian nuclear scientists in many years, including different in recent days. The IAEA battled Iran on 12 June, just a few hours before Israel launched his wave of attacks, because he did not comply with obligations intended to prevent it from developing a nuclear weapon.

Despite the IAEA berisation and the current fighting, however, Grossi insists that a diplomatic solution remains a feasible option.
“I believe there is a way to get this danger – or this concern – out of the table in a negotiated way.
“I have been in conversations, very good conversations, with [President Trump’s envoy] Steve Witkoff and also with the Iranians, “said Grossi.

“I believe there are ways in which we can ensure that Iran does not get a nuclear weapon. I think this is ultimately what Israel wants and what the United States has explained.

“We are the International Corps or inspectors and we know what you should check to prevent this from happening.
“We believe that the chance should be seized, as President Trump said, but of course the space is narrowed.”
