Kraft Heinz announced on Tuesday that by the end of 2027 it will remove all FD & C artificial dyes from his American portfolio, in the midst of the pressure of the Trump administration to abolish artificial colors from the food supply of the country.
Kraft, one of the largest manufacturers of food and drinks in North America, also said that it would not launch new products in the US with artificial colors, immediately in force. Kraft Heinz said that it works together with licensees of his brands to encourage them to remove artificial colors, which are often called FD & C colors because they can also be used in medicines and cosmetics and are subject to a strict approval system under the federal food and cosmetic operation (FD & C Act).
“The vast majority of our products use natural or no colors, and we have been traveling to reduce our use of FD & C colors in the rest of our portfolio,” said Pedro Navio, president of Kraft Heinz of North America, in a statement.
