Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has been linked to two luxury apartments overlooking the Israeli embassy in London, a location that security experts say could provide “permanent surveillance,” according to multiple reports.
The multi-million dollar Kensington properties are located next to the high-profile embassy complex and were identified by British media, based on findings from a year-long investigation into Khamenei’s potential foreign assets.
The times from London reported on March 5 that one building “is next to the Israeli embassy on Palace Green,” placing the homes in exceptional proximity to one of Israel’s most sensitive diplomatic locations.

The revelations arise from a Bloomberg research which claimed that the Khamenei portfolio could span multiple countries and include prime real estate in London, totaling around $138 million, as well as assets in Europe and the Gulf.
The two London apartments were reportedly acquired through intermediaries in 2014 and 2016 and are located on the upper floors of the building, offering a direct vantage point to the rear of the Israeli embassy complex. British media reported this.
A terrorism specialist quoted in reports said the positioning effectively means that “Iran has a view of the back of the Israeli embassy from less than 50 meters away,” describing the situation as a potential “serious security breach.”

Roger Macmillan, former security director at Iran’s dissident satellite broadcaster Iran International, also said the two apartments had “a direct line of sight, through Mojtaba Khamenei. That’s not a real estate portfolio – it’s a permanent surveillance platform.”
“This is a serious security breach,” he added.
Further details from Bloomberg’s investigation indicated that a businessman acted as a financial conduit, buying up high-value properties on Khamenei’s behalf and channeling money through a network of investments.

The investigation also found that eleven townhouses on London’s “Billionaire’s Row” had been bought through an Isle of Man shell company.
The Financial times has also similarly reported on the links between Khamenei’s associates and luxury assets across Europe.
Khamenei, 56, is seen as a powerful figure within Iran’s ruling establishment, eventually becoming the leading successor to his father, who was killed on February 28 in an attack on a complex in Tehran.
