When a president is in power, it is common for the opposition party to blame him for all the bad things that may happen during his term. During Obama’s presidency, Barack Obama was blamed for everything that the Republicans thought was bad, because that’s how politics works. The opposition party will resist.
That’s politics.
However, during Donald Trump’s first administration, he tried to blame Barack Obama long after Obama left office.
Six years ago, Trump tried to blame Obama for the coronavirus pandemic, nearly four years after Obama left office.
Trump tweeted at the time:
For decades, the CDC gov looked and studied the testing system but did nothing about it. It would always be inadequate and slow for a large-scale pandemic, but a pandemic would never happen, they hoped. President Obama made changes that only complicated matters.
Their response to swine flu (H1N1) was an unmitigated disaster, killing thousands of people, and so far nothing meaningful has been done to solve the testing problem. The changes have been implemented and testing will soon take place on a very large scale. All administrative hassle has been removed, ready for use!
The pattern is the same. Everything that goes wrong is the fault of the previous president.
This pass-the-buck disease has spread in Trump’s second administration to such an extent that Trump’s Vice President, JD Vance, blames Joe Biden for Trump’s invasion of Iran and causing skyrocketing gas prices.
Vance was speaking in North Carolina when he said:
