Eddie Ghabour, co-founder of Key Advisors Wealth Management, joins ‘Varney & Co.’ to explain why he believes the U.S. economy is entering a strong bull market despite mixed signals on Wall Street.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the build-out of infrastructure to support the artificial intelligence (AI) The technology boom is increasing the salaries of construction industry workers involved in these projects.
The Co-founder of Nvidia spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and was asked by BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, interim co-chair of the WEF, about how the rise of AI will change the nature of work.
“First of all, this is the largest infrastructure expansion in human history. That’s going to create a lot of jobs,” Huang said. “It’s great that the jobs are related to the trade. We get plumbers and electricians and construction and steel workers and network technicians and people who install and equip the equipment.”
“We’re seeing quite a bit of growth in this area. Salaries have almost doubled, and so we’re talking six-figure salaries for people building chip factories, computer factories or AI factories,” Huang said.

“We are sorely lacking in that, and I am very happy to see so many people in so many countries recognizing this important area,” he added. “Everyone should be able to earn a good income. You don’t need a PhD in computer science for that.”
During his conversation with Fink, the Nvidia CEO went into detail about the different levels of AI infrastructure and how they rely on each other.
TRUMP PUSHES EMERGENCY POWER SECURITY TO MAKE BIG TECH PAY FOR RISING ENERGY COSTS
“When you think of AI, you think of the AI models, but it’s really important to understand that industrially speaking, AI is essentially a five-tier cake. At the bottom is energy. AI, because it processes in real time and generates intelligence in real time, needs energy to do that,” he said.

Huang said the layers above energy are chips and then cloud services. Above that are AI models, as well as the top layer in its analogy: the application layer where AI is used for some productive use to economic benefits.

“The most important thing, though, is that because this computing platform needs all the layers underneath it, it has begun — and everyone is seeing it now — it has begun the largest infrastructure buildout in human history,” Huang said.
He added that the rise of AI “trillions of dollars of the infrastructure that needs to be built out” and said that investments “will be wise because all these contexts need to be processed so that the models can generate the intelligence needed to power the applications that sit on top of them.”
