George Washington Plunkitt was born into poverty in 1842, but rose through the ranks of New York’s Democratic Party machine, the famous “Tammany Hall,” to become a state representative and senator. He also became quite wealthy along the way.
Plunkitt always defended his machine and its methods – and the money they made him. Plunkitt would happily defend Tammany’s practices and refute the allegations of corruption with the stock response that “nobody thinks to distinguish between honest and dishonest corruption. There is a big difference between the two.”
Plunkitt’s brutality lives on in the modern machines of the left, found in the deep blue jurisdictions of the country. As the Twin Cities’ Somali community fleeces Minnesota taxpayers (many citizens, many not), voters across the country are still in shock as the story has unfolded since 2022. The lights should shine much brighter now, and after that I have a sequel that will make the swamp of the Twin Cities look like a puddle.
The Minnesota story has been hiding in plain sight, with top reporters from one of the original blogs from over two decades ago, Powerline, covering the scandal for years.
TIM WALZ FIRE BACK AT TRUMP ACCUSATION OF ‘INCOMPETENCE’, DEALING WITH RESPONSIBILITY FOR FRAUD IN MINNESOTA
Powerline founders John Hinderaker and Scott Johnson, and more recently their colleague Bill Glahn, have continued to dig and report, dig and report, dig and report on the “Somali connection.”
“There is a fair approach, and I am an example of how it works,” boss Plunkitt is said to have said. “I could sum it all up by saying: I saw my opportunities and I took them.”
WALZ ‘ABANDONED LEADERSHIP’ GUILTY IN $1B FRAUD SCANDAL WITH ‘HAUNTING REMINDS OF WATERGATE’: GOP CHALLENGER
It turns out that the defendants, the accused, and the convicted in the Gopher State also saw their opportunities, and they put Tammany to shame when it came to scale and speed.
Minnesota’s scammers have cheated the state out of huge amounts of money through a variety of schemes, the most infamous of which is currently ‘Feeding Our Future’. It took truly extraordinary efforts by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the state’s Attorney General Keith Ellison to turn their eyes the other way so that this scam, and soon others, could come to fruition. The possessed girl in “The Exorcist” had nothing on Walz and Ellison when it came to turning their heads.
We have former Attorney General Eric Holder and former White House Counsel Dana Remus to thank for bringing to the nation’s attention the massive fraud ring running primarily from the Somali-American and Somali communities in the Twin Cities.
DEM DESIGNATED EDUCATION OFFICIALS FACE NEW INVESTIGATION AS FEEDING OF OUR FUTURE SCANDAL BROADS, TRUMP TARGET FRAUD
Why? Because that pairing made Walz much more than an obscure governor of a deep blue state. That duo was primarily responsible for vetting the 2024 Democratic vice presidential nominee as one of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ potential running mates. The dynamic duo of Holder and Remus either completely missed the massive setbacks Walz suffered under his watch, or didn’t consider them significant enough to derail his candidacy.

During “Brat Summer,” the traditional media abandoned their past practices and joined the effort to push the worst pair of candidates to the finish line since Alf Landon and Frank Knox were blown out by FDR in the 1936 referendum on Roosevelt’s New Deal.
Holder blessed Walz, and Holder’s fans in the Manhattan-Beltway corridor followed suit. Media elites in turn blessed Holder’s judgment.
LIZ PEEK: HUGE WELFARE ROBBERY IN MINNESOTA PROVES Democrats Can’t Control Their Own Mess
Big mistake.
Now Walz is part of the National Democratic Party brand and refuses to leave. He is choosing to focus his efforts on a third term as governor next year – apparently hoping he could be the party’s standard-bearer in 2028. Instead, “Feeding Our Future” broke out of the Minnesota news ghetto onto the national stage.
“Run Tim Run” should be the GOP song along with “Run Gavin Run,” because like Walz, California Governor Gavin Newsom has some explaining to do at the industry level.
MINNESOTA GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES ACCUSE WALZ OF ‘MASSIVE FRAUD’ AGAINST MOVEMENTS AGAINST SOMALIA COMMUNITY
No, I’m not talking about the California governor’s French laundry debacle. And no, not the devastating fires that ravaged LA in January. Not even his indicted former chief of staff. No, the exact parallel to Walz’s woes is the Newsom administration’s handling of COVID-era jobless aid — a statewide scam run by political crooks.
The Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program, like the Lost Wages Assistance plan, was created and funded by Congress to keep alive Americans who have been left unemployed or have had their businesses closed by COVID lockdowns. Like standard unemployment programs, these COVID-era programs were administered primarily through state unemployment insurance offices and other government agencies.
The COVID lockdowns were unprecedented, and the ‘public health authorities’ responsible for advising and managing them should never be taken seriously again.
MINNESOTA’S $70 MILLION FRAUD EXPOSES HOW DEMOCRATS BUILD A SYSTEM DESIGNED TO BE ROBBED
Many of those bureaucrats, drunk on the new authority, stepped forward as elected officials sought guidance on what to do about the mysterious and deadly disease imported from China. (Their rejection of the lab leak theory speaks to their actual, as opposed to their assumed, expertise.)
When lockdowns became the solution du jour, Congress rightly understood that they were shutting down the livelihoods of tens of millions of Americans and flooding the country with lifesaving money – three times over.
It wasn’t just the Somali community in Minnesota that had “seen their opportunity and seized it.” So are California’s cons: the real, honest cons of California’s penal system—prisoners for whom the time available for deceit and fraud is plentiful.
MINNESOTA STATE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES SAY THEY WROTE ‘WARNING’ TO KAMALA HARRIS, DNC, ABOUT WALZ AS VP PICK
Ask your favorite AI engine, “How much fraud has been committed against the California Employment Development Department during COVID?” The answers will vary, but the floor for the cost of the fraud is $20 billion. The ceiling is well over $30 billion.
The Golden State EDD is “run” by a director, and Governor Newsom, who took office in 2018, appointed two: Rita Saenz and Nancy Farias. COVID arrived on Newsom’s watch, and he and his appointees should own the fraud that followed. They make the Walz-Ellison team look like pikers when it comes to ignoring fraud.
During his first term, President Trump opposed Operation Warp Speed, and Congress rightly decided to (1) spend federal dollars to ease the pain of the lockdown and (2) leave the payment of most public benefits to government agencies, while COVID business loans were handled by private sector banks, while the Federal Reserve and Treasury Department innovated in various ways to prevent an economic crash.
WALZ IS AN ABSOLUTE MISTAKE IN FIGHTING FRAUD, SAYS GOP GUBERNATORIAL CHALLENGER ROBBINS
The years since the Wuhan laboratory accident have demonstrated the enormous incompetence of the American administrative state, but also the need for a federal government to pick up the tab when “scientists” lose their collective minds and recommend, for example, the closure of schools.
According to the official timeline, COVID appears in Wuhan in December 2019 and reaches US shores a month later. We may never know when the first cases were diagnosed by the Chinese Communist Party, and we are in no position to investigate the horrific fraud and resulting disaster for which General Secretary Xi Jinping is responsible.
But President Trump could order a six-month deep dive into the ensuing financial fraud in the US, and not just in Minnesota and California – although these are the “patient zeros” of never letting a crisis pass without enriching the state’s worst actors.
COMER INVESTIGATES WALZ IN NEW HOME INVESTIGATION, INVOLVING NEARLY $1 BILLION IN ALLEGED MINNESOTA FRAUD
Could President Trump create a time-limited panel to investigate fraud in government agencies during COVID? Yes. Could that panel burn a few GOP credentials along the way? Inevitable.
But the interest in the Somali shakedown in Minnesota should be a demand signal for accountability across the country.

President Trump often behaves in the example of Teddy Roosevelt, who, like 45-47, was never afraid of a headline – provided he provoked it.
Now it’s time for the president to ask a handful of the country’s smartest, most respected people to sift through the rubble of state governments’ many COVID-era responsibilities and “initiatives” and report quickly — and in plain English — on the extent of the fraud committed against government agencies.
