President Donald Trump said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has yet to read the updated peace plan to end the war with Russia, amid several rounds of talks between US and Ukrainian officials in Miami.
“I’m a little disappointed that President Zelensky hasn’t read the proposal yet, which was a few hours ago,” Trump told reporters at the Kennedy Center on Sunday. “His people love it, but he doesn’t.”
“Russia, I think, would rather have the whole country if you think about it, but Russia is fine with it, but I’m not sure Zelenskiy is fine with it,” Trump added.
Zelenskyy said on Saturday that he had had a “long and substantive phone conversation” with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Rustem Umerov, the head of the Ukrainian delegation and secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said on Monday that he and the military chief of Ukraine’s General Staff, General Andriy Hnatov, would brief Zelenskyy on the latest developments, including the conclusions of Witkoff and Kushner’s five-hour meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Russian leader stood by his maximalist demands in the interview, arguing that his war will only end when his country captures Ukraine’s eastern Donbas or when Ukrainian troops withdraw.
Zelenskyy will meet with European leaders in London on Monday to discuss the US-led peace plan. His arrival comes amid a new wave of Russian drone and missile attacks targeting Ukraine’s civilian and energy infrastructure.
