John Rocker, the ex-Atlanta Braves star who infamously insulted all of New York City, is now attacking his leading mayoral candidate, Democrat Zohran Mamdani.
“25 years ago I criticized New York for its rapid decline into a Third World country,” Rocker said wrote on X on Tuesdayformerly Twitter. “I was forced to undergo psychological counseling, like I was the crazy one. 25 years later, the city votes a Muslim socialist for mayor. FUCK NEW YORK.”
When asked if he would ever play for the team, Rocker inducted himself into the Hate Hall of Fame:
“I would retire first,” he replied. “It’s the most hectic, nerve-wracking city. Imagine having to take the 7 train to the ballpark and looking like you [riding through] Beirut next to a child with purple hair, next to a gay man with AIDS, next to a guy who just got out of prison for the fourth time, next to a twenty-year-old mother with four children. It’s depressing.”
“The biggest thing I don’t like about New York is the foreigners,” he added. “You can walk a whole block in Times Square and not hear anyone speaking English. Asians and Koreans and Vietnamese and Indians and Russians and Spanish and everything up there. How the hell did they get to this country?”
The left-handed closer X account is full of far-right messages, including an insult against Mamdani.
‘I don’t give a shit about Mohammed [sic] Mamdani cycles through New York to go to the Kebab stands,’ he wrote on October 16. “No way.”
