A jacket from the president Donald Trumpwhile he owned the New Jersey Generals, is being auctioned off.
During the three-year run of the United States Football League, which tried to do that rival the NFLTrump owned the team that represented New Jersey and played at Giants Stadium.
Forty years after the last USFL game, Trump’s Generals jacket is now being auctioned through Gray Flannel Auctions.

The white jacket is embroidered with “Trump” on the right chest and a general’s helmet on the left. The collar, wrists and bottom of the jacket feature the team colors, while there are some spots on the inside and near the buttons.
“This jacket has been properly marked and presented to us as an owner’s jacket,” says the description of the auction house of the jacket says.
Trump tried at least twice to own a team in the NFL, including the then-Baltimore Colts and the Buffalo Bills before running for president.

Trump took ownership of the Generals in 1984 after initially attempting to purchase the team prior to the franchise’s first game.
Under Trump’s ownership, the Generals went 25-11 (14-4, 11-7) and made the playoffs in each of his two seasons, but lost in their first playoff game both years.
Herschel Walker and Doug Flutie played for the Generals before pursuing careers in the NFL, respectively. Trump wanted to move the Generals to New York, but the league folded in 1986, shortly after the schedule was to be moved from the spring and summer to the fall to compete directly with the NFL.
