Jason Kelce called a timeout Tuesday over comments falsely attributed to him that added to the noise surrounding Bad Bunny headlining the Super Bowl LX halftime show in February.

“I don’t normally comment on things like this, but I feel I should say that there are a number of accounts currently on this platform posting fake quotes and attributing them to me,” Kelce wrote from his verified account on X.
“I appreciate @X posting community notes on various accounts and I won’t comment specifically on the other accounts as I don’t want to increase their engagement. But please know: unless you hear from me directly on one of my platforms, it’s not real.”
The “false quotes” come amid conservative outrage with Republican lawmakers like House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) calling Bad Bunny a “terrible choice” to headline the halftime show and questioning whether the three-time Grammy winner who has sold millions of albums “appeals to a broader audience.”
President Donald Trump claimed in an interview with Newsmax’s Greg Kelly last week that he did not know the Puerto Rican rapper and singer before calling the choice “absolutely ridiculous.”
The Spanish-language artist has made a particular effort to avoid U.S. stops on his upcoming tour. citing fears that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents would be present outside his shows amid Trump’s immigration policies.

Bad Bunny made light of the MAGA world’s outrage over his upcoming halftime show during his opening monologue on “SNL” earlier this month.
“I’m very happy and I think everyone is happy about it, even Fox News,” he joked.
