The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu marked the second year since the Hamas terrorist attack of 7 October 2023 in a statement that was shared on social media on Tuesday, in which he called the “a fatal war for our existence” and stated that Israel’s “enemies did not broken”.
“Babies, children and the elderly were killed,” said Netanyahu in his comments Shared on X. He added that 251 men and women were brought to tunnels in the Gaza Strip, figures that the IDF later released.
Netanyahu said that he and his wife Sara “bend our heads in memory of our martyrs and fallen,” while promising that Israel “will continue to work on the return of all kidnapped, both the living and the fallen in every possible way.”

Terrorists stormed Israeli communities near the border with Gaza and attacked the Nova music festival, in which families were killed in their homes and men, women and children were abducted. The Hamas attack caused a war that still continues.
Netanyahu described the ongoing conflict as “the war of rebirth on seven fronts,” a struggle that, according to him, was aimed at the survival and future of Israel. “Our bloodthirsty enemies have hit us hard, but they did not broken us,” he said. “Those who cancel his hand against us will get unprecedented crushing blows.”
He praised the soldiers and commanders of the Israeli armed forces (IDF) for “waging a fierce war against those looking for our damage on every front” and claimed that Israel “broke the Iranian axis” and at the same time reformed the region.
At the same time, he spoke about ‘enormous pride of the wonderful resilience of our country’, combined with the ‘enormous pain’ of loss.

Netanyahu concluded his statement with a call for unity, in which he promised to pursue three central war objectives: the return of all hostages, the elimination of the control of Hamas in Gaza and a permanent guarantee that the Israel area will never again threaten.
“Together we will stand, and together, with God’s help, we will win,” he said.
