Molly Qerim said on Monday that she is leaving ESPN’s ‘First Take’, and ends a 10-year run with Stephen A. Smith on the characteristic morning show of the sports network.
“After a lot of reflection, I decided that it is time to close this incredible chapter and step away from the first take,” Qerim wrote about her Instagram story. “Hosting this show was one of the biggest awards of my career. Every morning I had the privilege of sharing the agency with some of the most brilliant, passionate and entertaining voices in sport – and with all of you, the best fans in the world.
“I am so grateful for what this journey has given me: lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories and the chance to be part of something very special. From the ground of my heart, thank you for welcoming me in your houses.”
“Stay informed,” she added with a smiley face, perhaps to indicate an announcement about her next move.
Smith, the prominent voice of the network, had to comment on social media from Tuesday.
It was probably the scoop of SBJ Die Qerim to confirm her exit.
ESPN has Praised Qerim, 41, because of her ability to “moderate very strong personalities with both heat and authority. In this role, she regularly shows her ability to make contact with a wide range of guests through interview segments.”
Qerim’s Exit continues with a commotion on ‘First Take’. In July, ESPN broke ties with Shannon Sharpe, a fixed value, after he had drawn up a lawsuit that was filed by an ex-girlfriend accused him of rape.
Qerim previously worked at ESPN from 2006 to 2010 and had subsequent performances at CBS Sports in New York City and NFL Network. She returned to ESPN in 2015 to teams on ‘First Take’ with Smith.
