The tension between Houston Astros Pitcher Framber Valdez and catcher Cesar Salazar may have the fact that Valdez deliberately hit his teammate on Tuesday, although he denied it. (Watch the video below.)
Video shows Salazar who tries to prevent Valdez from throwing a pitch to the Trent Grisham of the New York Yankees, but Valdez ignored him. Grisham hammered the fleshy offer for a Grand Slam in the Yanks’ 7-1 victory.
Just after the next batter, Anthony Volpe, stepped in, Salazar seemed unprepared for the Worp of Valdez. The 90-mile per hour-plus pitch hit Salazar in the stomach.
Salazar seems to have gone briefly to Valdez, which suggests that Valdez threw a kind of pitch that had not been agreed.
The two then spoke “emphatically” against each other in the clubhouse, according to to mlb.com. They were called in the office of manager Joe Espada, The athletics reportedAlso point to rough feelings.
But Valdez then insisted that he did nothing wrong.
“We have just crossed,” Valdez said through a translator, per mlb.com. “I called for that pitch, I threw it and we were crossed. When we went to the dugout, I apologized with him and I said sorry to him and I took full responsibility for that.”
Salazar supported him and said that crowd of noise may have contributed to the confusion.
